The South Island of NZ is rightly renowned for its beautiful scenery and lack of people!  Formed predominantly by glaciation and some volcanic activity it is an island of extremes. Every few kilometres the scenery changes.  Wild coast to high snowy mountains,  glaciers, rivers, lakes or rolling farmland. It is both dramatic and beautiful.
